Marc Bati published his first pages in several fanzines while still at college. He made his professional debut in Djin magazine in 1977 with the adventures of 'Paradox le Chat'. Afterwards, he spent several years doing promotional art and comics for some erotic magazines. His meeting with Jean Giraud (Moebius) in 1982 meant his return to the comics field. Together with Moebius, he produced a short story in L'Expansion, followed by 'La Nuit de l'Étoile' in Métal Hurlant. Later on, Moebius wrote the trilogy 'Le Cristal Majeur', published at Dargaud. Bati drew the series while living in Tahiti and Bora Bora. Back in France in 1990, Bati started the 'Altor' series, about a young elf, the main character in 'Cristal Majeur'. As a scriptwriter, he wrote the 'Sylfeline' series for his friend Bruno Bellamy. In 1997, he created a more adult album with Jag, 'Chroniques Originelles', at Soleil publishers.
