Frédéric was, together with Gérardel, one of the more productive artists for the early issues of Pat... épate, the magazine of the National Association of Patronages that started in 1946. In a somewhat crudely drawn style, he illustrated stories like 'Atom-Boy au Pôle Sud' and 'La Machine Infernale', as well as gag strips with 'Patillet'.
