Walt Holcombe created the acclaimed 'King of Persia', for which he received an Eisner Award in 1997. His four-part series, 'Poot', was published by Fantagraphics Books in 1998. In 2001, Holcombe directed and animated the six-minute cartoon short, 'The Courtship of Sniffy La Pants'. He lives in Los Angeles with his cat, Eartha Kitty.
Holcombe has also been active as a storyboard artist and animator for various animated TV series, including 'The Mr. Men Show' (2008-2009), based on the children's book characters of Roger Hargreaves, 'Teen Titans Go!' (2014-2016, 2019) and 'Clone High' (2023-2024). He also contributed to 'The Ricky Gervais Show' (2010) and Mad TV (2012-2013). He was also a special effects intern for 'Space Jam' (1996).
In 1997, he received a Russ Manning Award for 'Most Promising Newcomer'.
