Tetsuji Fukushima was the creator of the science fiction manga serial 'Sabaku no Mao' ('The Devil of the Desert'), printed in the monthly boy's magazine Shonen Shojo Bokeno from 1949 on. The serial, inspired by 'Aladdin', ran until February 1956. Fukushima was strongly influenced by North American comics.
Tetsuji Fukushima was an influence on Leiji Matsumoto.
