'Killroy Was Here'.
Walter Laureysens studied arts in Antwerp. He began working for Studio Vandersteen in 1971, inking 'Bessy' stories. He eventually became a penciller for the series, and has illustrated 197 stories. In the 1980s, he made illustrations for publishers of educational books, and also began a collaboration with the science fiction magazine Essef.

When both Essef and the German 'Bessy' stories were canceled, Laureyssens went to work for a printing firm in Wommelgem. Since 2004, he self-publishes his comic series 'Killroy Was Here', previously published in Essef. In 2011, he paid graphic homage to Pom in the collective tribute album 'Op Het Spoor van Pom' (2011).
